Job Summary

SSM Health is seeking a Radiology Student Intern to provide X-Ray services to patients within the student scope of practice.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and position patients and select exposure factors under direct supervision.
  • Follow radiation protection and safety standards.
  • Prepare for and assist supervising technologists and physicians in imaging procedures.
  • Administer contrast media and medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
Requirements
  • Enrolled in an accredited radiology school.
  • No experience required.
Physical Requirements
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
  • Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry.
