Job Summary

MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society is seeking an experienced Ophthalmologist with expertise in Glaucoma to join our team. As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients with glaucoma and other eye conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat patients with glaucoma and other eye conditions
  • Perform complex cataract surgery and glaucoma surgery, including trabeculectomy, drainage implants, and microinvasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS)
  • Interpret glaucoma diagnostic tests and provide expert care to patients
  • Participate in patient care through hospital rounds, morning reports, conferences, and consultation
  • Teach and mentor residents and contribute to research and academic activities
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine
  • Residency training in an accredited core specialty training program
  • English language proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology approved fellowship in Glaucoma
  • American Board of Ophthalmology certification or board eligible
  • Expertise in performing complex cataract surgery and glaucoma surgery
