Key Responsibilities:

  • Staffing and scheduling of personnel to meet the needs of the department
  • Coordinating and directing patient care to ensure patients' needs are met and hospital policy is followed
  • Formulating a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluating effectiveness of learning
  • Utilizing knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition
  • Reducing the potential for medication errors by following the five medication rights
  • Adequately assessing and reassessing pain, and utilizing appropriate pain management techniques
  • Educating the patient and family regarding pain management
  • Visiting patients daily to ensure their needs are met

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition
  • Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain
  • Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
