The RTX Technology Research Center is seeking a dedicated Research Technician to join our High Temperature Materials Team. This role involves engaging with a diverse group of experts focused on the development of innovative materials for aerospace and defense sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Research Technician, you will:
- Engage in the synthesis and preparation of advanced high-temperature materials and coating feedstocks.
- Operate and maintain high-temperature furnaces and specialized testing rigs.
- Document and communicate experimental findings effectively.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A solid understanding of laboratory equipment operation and maintenance related to high-temperature materials.
- Experience with instrumentation for measuring temperatures, pressures, and fluid flows.
- Proven organizational skills for maintaining accurate laboratory records.
- Strong technical judgment and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
- Eligibility as a U.S. Person or ability to obtain necessary export authorizations.
Preferred Skills:
Additional qualifications that would be beneficial include:
- Hands-on experience with programming laboratory equipment.
- Knowledge of electronics and low-voltage wiring.
- Experience with data acquisition tools.
- A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
Education Requirements:
A diploma with a minimum of 10 years of experience or an AA/AS degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience is required.
