About the Job

We are seeking a Respiratory Care Therapist II to join our transport team. As an integral member of this team, you will function within the scope of practice as defined by Washington State, the AARC Scope and Standards for Respiratory Care Practice, and adhere to Seattle Children's Hospital policies/procedures and guidelines of care.

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the safety of patients prior to and during transport to medical care facilities. This includes providing basic patient care as well as advanced life support measures required to stabilize critically ill or injured patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and effective respiratory care to pediatric patients during transport.
  • Collaborate with Registered Nurses and Emergency Medical Technicians to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of neonatal and pediatric critical care respiratory practices.

This position may be based at Main Campus or at one of the off-campus bases. Off-campus bases may be located at Seattle Children's locations or other sites determined by volume and efficiency.

Requirements
  • Graduate of accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.
  • Minimum of two (2) years current pediatric intensive care (PICU), cardiac intensive care (CICU), or neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) experience.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Current Washington State RCP License.

A current passport or WA Enhanced ID is required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are also necessary.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $41.39 - $66.98 per hour, calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors, including equity, skills, experience, and expertise.
