Healthcare Support Specialist

Cedar Recovery, LLC is a recognized ASAM Level I outpatient treatment center dedicated to employing a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches. Our mission is to provide a comprehensive model of care that integrates medical, counseling, and therapeutic interventions tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient, fostering long-term recovery from substance use disorders. While we address all forms of substance use disorders, our primary focus is on opioid use disorder, utilizing medications such as Buprenorphine and/or Naltrexone (MAT).
The role of the Healthcare Support Specialist is crucial in supporting Cedar Recovery's operations. Key responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting Medical Professionals: Aid in clinical preparations, including documenting lab results, managing patient UDS schedules, and facilitating e-prescribing.
- Maintaining Patient Care: Ensure patient care continuity by retrieving CSMDs, conducting chart audits, scheduling follow-up appointments, and addressing prescription-related issues.
- Computer Proficiency: Demonstrate adeptness in managing scheduling tasks, including making changes and cancellations, along with necessary documentation.
- Support Role: Provide assistance to the Office Coordinator and Patient Care Coordinator as needed.
Required Competencies:
- Effective Knowledge: Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and EMR systems.
- Accountability and Self-Management: Accept personal responsibility for work outcomes and consequences.
- Independence: Capable of working autonomously without daily oversight from supervisors.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects while adhering to Cedar Recovery's standards.
- Teamwork and Leadership: Collaborate effectively with colleagues to fulfill Cedar Recovery's mission of addressing the opioid crisis and enhancing community health through effective addiction treatment services.
Communication Skills: Maintain regular communication with team members across all organizational levels through various channels, including face-to-face interactions and digital communication tools.
- Engage respectfully with vendors, suppliers, and pharmacy representatives.
- Encourage open dialogue and actively listen to foster effective and respectful working relationships within Cedar Recovery.
Innovation and Problem Solving: Propose, refine, and implement quality improvement initiatives that align with Cedar Recovery's mission. Utilize creative thinking to devise innovative solutions.
