Job Description

Midwest Web Printing & Direct Mail is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Building Maintenance Assistant to join our team. As a Building Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for performing a variety of duties to ensure the proper upkeep and maintenance of our facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any building or production equipment-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform general building and production equipment repairs that do not require a specialized technician.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on building systems and perform routine inspections to identify maintenance issues and repairs needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for more complex repairs and projects.
  • Clean and assist with upkeep of the facilities.
  • Order supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
  • Perform any changes or repairs to office furniture or cubicles.
  • Conduct general safety inspections of all fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and eyewash stations.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.

Requirements:

  • Some knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance.
  • Some knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Certification to operate Aerial/Scissor Lift. Certification proved after employment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration and medium noise level.
