Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Optical Engineer - Advanced Imaging Systems to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work on the design and development of complex zoom and multispectral imaging systems for new and modified optical products.

Job Description

The successful candidate will work with an interdisciplinary engineering team to design, develop, tolerate, and analyze complex IR and multispectral optical systems. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with senior optical engineers in the design and development of optical prescriptions;
  • Tolerancing and analyzing optical system performance over temperature;
  • Working with optomechanical engineers to ensure consistency between optical design intent and implemented designs;
  • Supporting the design and development of assembly and test fixtures;
  • Creating and maintaining accurate documentation;
  • Preparing and supporting design review activities;
  • Supporting production and QA with issue debugging and RMA assessments.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have a technical degree (BS engineering or physics) and 2-5 years of related work experience. Essential skills include:

  • Experience with imaging optical design principles and lens development;
  • Basic competence with Zemax or CODEV or FRED or other optical design packages;
  • Experience with infraoptical systems and radiometry (a plus);
  • Strong communication skills for presenting technical content.
