Compensation: $60-65/hr on C2C

Position Overview:

This role is focused on enhancing the CI/CD pipeline and providing support for the development, deployment, integration, refactoring, and scripting requirements for the DOC DevOps environment and offender management application systems.


The ideal candidate will possess experience with tools designed around Agile and DevOps methodologies. Responsibilities will include automating CI/CD processes, managing environment updates and upgrades, developing Java microservices, refactoring existing code, and providing support within the DevOps framework. These tasks are essential for the integration development of management systems, collaboration with other state agencies, and engagement with external partners. The role will also involve optimizing the DevOps environment and supporting APIs and microservices.


The contractor should have substantial experience in automating, developing, and maintaining a Java-based DevOps environment, including:

  • Programming Language: Java
  • Issue Tracking: Jira
  • CI/CD Tools: GitLab, Rancher, ArgoCD, Nexus Repository, Kustomize, Maven
  • Unit Testing: JUnit
  • Performance Testing: JMeter
  • Backend Frameworks: Spring Boot and Spring Cloud
  • Code Quality: SonarQube
  • Application Security: Prisma Cloud
  • Authentication and Authorization: KeyCloak, Okta, AzureAD
  • Containerization: Docker
  • Orchestration: Kubernetes

Under the guidance of the BTM managers, the Senior Application Architect will be tasked with modernizing and supporting the existing DevOps environment. This role will serve as a Support Lead and a DevOps Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Data Systems Section. These responsibilities are crucial for transitioning all web applications and integrations to a new platform over the coming years. The DevOps environment is vital for meeting the business demand for timely delivery of new technology solutions.
