Position Overview:
AdventHealth Medical Group is on the lookout for a Physician Assistant to deliver thorough care, guidance, and education to patients and their families throughout the entire spectrum of colorectal medical and surgical treatment.
Role Responsibilities:
The Physician Assistant will play a vital role within the colorectal team, addressing both the physical and emotional needs of patients.
We seek an individual who embraces a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to patient and family care, acting as a skilled practitioner, educator, consultant, and researcher across inpatient, surgical, and outpatient environments.
This role will require a commitment to maintaining job performance standards and personal accountability for the mission and core values of AdventHealth.
Key Duties Include:
- Conducting clinical assessments for both outpatients and inpatients, including new patient evaluations, consultations, and follow-ups for benign anorectal issues and colorectal cancers.
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
- Administering infrared coagulation therapy, anorectal manometry, ultrasound, wound care, and ostomy management in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Serving as a resource for individuals seeking information about their diagnoses or treatments and coordinating comprehensive care plans.
- Providing education to patients and families regarding health issues, treatment plans, self-care, and preventive measures to promote independence and wellness.
- Writing orders and prescriptions as necessary.
- Making referrals to specialists based on patient needs.
- Managing patient discharges with appropriate follow-up planning and education.
- Assisting in surgical procedures, including open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgeries.
- Participating in intraoperative colonoscopies.
- Conducting rounds on hospitalized patients.
- Preparing discharge summaries for medical records.
- Collaborating with other advanced practice providers and physicians following established protocols.
- Facilitating patient admissions, discharges, and scheduling.
- Developing and implementing educational materials for patients and families.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records.
- Documenting patient status, interventions, communications, and outcomes in a timely manner.
- Acting as a patient advocate.
- Consulting with inpatient staff and supporting departments.
- Anticipating the needs of providers, staff, patients, and families.
- Utilizing resources effectively to ensure high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
- Adapting to changes in technology, policies, and workload through effective prioritization and critical thinking.
- Serving as a professional role model, demonstrating ethical and professional judgment.
- Engaging in ongoing education and professional development to maintain high skill levels.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range: $133,690 - $141,050
Signing Bonus: $6,464
Relocation Assistance: $10,000

Qualifications:
Education: Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Experience: 1-2 years of surgical experience
Licensure: Certification by N.C.C.P.A. and an active Physician Assistant license in Colorado
BLS Certification: Required.
