Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at MJ Care Inc. as a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct and consultative services to children with exceptional educational needs and educational staff in a school-based setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a school-based speech-language pathology program to support children with exceptional educational needs.
  • Provide direct and indirect speech-language pathology services to children in educational environments.
  • Collaborate with educational staff to develop and implement Individual Education Programs (IEPs) that meet the needs of children with exceptional educational needs.
  • Conduct evaluations, interpret evaluation findings, and prepare written reports to support IEP development.
  • Participate in the development of IEPs by contributing educationally appropriate speech-language therapy and related goals and objectives.
  • Travel to and among schools to provide services to children.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, including daily documentation, Medicaid billing logs, IEPs, and quarterly and annual progress reports.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from a school accredited by the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
  • Current Department of Public Instruction license in good standing required for Wisconsin positions.
  • Current Illinois State Board of Education license in good standing required for Illinois positions.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence is required for SLPs in a mentor role and is highly recommended when filling school-based assignments.
  • Current state license and/or certification to provide speech language pathology services in good standing preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience in a school-based setting.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and billing software.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work as a collaborative team member.
Working Conditions

The Speech Language Pathologist will work in a school-based setting, providing services to children with exceptional educational needs. The successful candidate will be required to travel to and among schools to provide services to children.

The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely records, including daily documentation, Medicaid billing logs, IEPs, and quarterly and annual progress reports.

The Speech Language Pathologist will be required to adhere to established federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and laws related to speech-language pathology services in schools.
