Job Summary

First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our neurology group, providing both inpatient and outpatient care for our Sarasota County patient populations. Our neurology service line includes 7 APPs and 13 physicians practicing general, vascular neuroendovascular, neurophysiology, and epilepsy.

About the Opportunity
  • Full-time position with equitable in-patient weekend coverage at SMH Sarasota
  • Providing both clinic and in-patient service at SMH - Venice
  • Clinic template to see 7 to 8 patients during clinic sessions
  • Work collaboratively with supervising physician on in-patient service
  • Responsible for Stroke Alert
  • No nights, no call
About the Team

SMH-Sarasota, our flagship, level II trauma, 897 bed hospital is Sarasota County's only state-designated Comprehensive Stroke Center. SMH-Venice has earned Primary Stroke Center specialty designation, while Sarasota Memorial's freestanding ER in North Port is designated as an Acute Stroke Ready Center. All three facilities follow the same emergency care protocols to diagnose and stabilize patients experiencing stroke emergencies.

Requirements
  • NCCPA or AGACNP certification
  • Active or eligible for Florida license
  • Neurology experience preferred
  • BLS required, ACLS certification preferred
  • Ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Knowledge of state, federal and local health care agencies and programs
  • Ability to work effectively with physicians and other allied health personnel in the hospital and/or office setting
  • Demonstrated clinical competency skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pharmacology as it relates to health care practice and current prescription writing skills/DEA licensing
  • Demonstrated skills in documentation in medical records to substantiate accurate billing
  • Demonstrated written & verbal communication & strong analytical skills
  • Effective interaction skills to ensure the successful care of patients in the clinical setting
  • Effective leadership and strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of relevant state and federal laws, statutes and regulations
