Job Title: Radiologic Technologist

At RWJBarnabas Health, we are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare organization.

Job Summary:

The Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic medical radiographs within the scope defined by regulatory and departmental quality control standards. This includes reporting identified safety issues, such as hazardous environments and medical errors.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic medical radiographs according to departmental procedure manual
  • Report identified safety issues, such as hazardous environments and medical errors
  • Assist in the movement of patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, and radiographic tables
  • Assist physicians in the administration of contrast materials required for procedures
  • Check equipment, supplies, and accessories on a regular basis
  • Complete all paperwork and computer entries as required
  • Comply with all regulatory and accrediting standards
  • Consult with supervision, radiologist, and/or other physician regarding examinations as necessary
  • Develop and process exposed film and reload cassettes with unexposed film, returning cassettes to proper locations
  • Participate in the teaching/preparation of patients/families, as appropriate and according to age-specific guidelines
  • Perform Maxifile/FIS functions as appropriate, including procedure completion and charge capture
  • Perform and/or assist with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures
  • Perform all routine radiographic procedures and views according to department procedure manual
  • Perform surgical and portable examinations as assigned
  • Perform visual checks on equipment and report findings to appropriate personnel
  • Review exposed radiographs for proper positioning, technique, and identification
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of requirements for graduation from an approved school of Radiologic Technology
  • NJ state licensure
  • ARRT Certification
  • BLS through American Heart Association
