About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Pocono Center. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing safe and supportive care to individuals with intellectual disabilities, promoting their growth and independence in a fun and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and appropriate care for all Pocono Center residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and personal needs are met.
  • Supervise residents and assist with daily living tasks, such as hygiene and toileting.
  • Support individuals in their daily routines, including community outings and activities.
  • Attend in-service training programs to develop skills and knowledge.
  • Perform related duties and special assignments as assigned by the coordinator.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • One year of human service experience working with children, adolescents, or adults.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong passion for working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Work Environment

As a Direct Support Professional, you will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with opportunities to make a real difference in the lives of our residents. You will be required to:

  • Work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Use protective equipment, such as gloves and masks, to ensure a safe working environment.
