Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the Middlesex Sheriff's Office (MSO) in Billerica, MA. The successful candidate will work in a correctional setting, providing high-quality patient care to inmates and detainees.

Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with clinical duties and perform emergency services as needed
  • Dispense medication and account for supplies and equipment
  • Make entries into the infirmary log and confer with other shifts regarding patients and activities
  • Provide nursing services to clients through the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program
  • Monitor opioid withdrawal symptoms and perform Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment for Alcohol Scale (CIWAS) as needed
  • Provide individual and group health counseling to clients and families
  • Closely coordinate with local pharmacies around MAT client medications
  • Maintain records and oversee program-specific treatment plans
Requirements
  • Associate's degree; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Current LPN license issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Minimum of three (3) years of LPN experience preferred
  • Prior experience in a correctional or similar setting also preferred
  • Ability to work independently and with other internal departments in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written, communication, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a correctional facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and must be able to work on varied shifts, weekends, nights, holidays, and subject to being forced to work over 8 hours depending on operational needs.

Salary and Benefits

The starting annual salary is from $68,745.67 to $70,825.67, plus additional benefits included per the collective bargaining agreement.
