The Middlesex Sheriff's Office is seeking a qualified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in a correctional setting. The successful candidate will provide nursing services to clients through all phases of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program and monitor opioid withdrawal symptoms.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians with in-house clinical duties
- Perform emergency services as necessary
- Dispense medication as directed
- Account for medication, supplies, and equipment
- Make entries into infirmary log
- Confer with other shifts regarding patients and infirmary activities
- Provide individual and group health counseling to clients and families
- Closely coordinate with local pharmacies around MAT client medications
- Maintain records and oversee program-specific treatment plans
- Associate's degree; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Current LPN license issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Minimum of three (3) years of LPN experience preferred
- Prior experience in a correctional or similar setting also preferred
- Ability to work independently and with other internal departments
- Strong written, communication, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills
The position is based in a correctional facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The successful candidate must be able to work on all shifts, weekends, nights, holidays, and subject to being forced to work over 8 hours depending on operational needs.
Salary and BenefitsThe starting annual salary is from $74,355.31 to $76,435.31, plus additional benefits included per the collective bargaining agreement. An active valid driver's license and the right to legally operate a motor vehicle in Massachusetts are required.
