Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct physical therapy assessments, evaluations, and treatments for residents in accordance with your professional scope of practice.
  • Identify and recommend appropriate physical therapy services aligned with the resident's care plan as directed by the attending physician.
  • Perform comprehensive initial and ongoing evaluations for new admissions, referred residents, and re-evaluations as necessary. These evaluations should detail the resident's needs and outline a tailored physical therapy plan of care, including relevant medical diagnoses, treatment goals, prognosis, evaluation results, resident objectives, and discharge planning.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing for therapy services provided using Optima HCS.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of resident progress through daily treatment notes, weekly reports, recertification records, and discharge summaries in Optima HCS for each resident receiving therapy.
  • Oversee the activities of Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) in accordance with state regulations.
  • Complete continuing education units (CEUs) as mandated by the State Board on an annual or bi-annual basis.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a graduate degree from an APTA accredited Physical Therapy Program or an equivalent qualification for internationally trained therapists.
