Job Overview

We are seeking a Healthcare Optimization Specialist to join our Midlands Flow Improvement team at 7001 Corporate, Richland. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in improving patient throughput and ensuring safe, timely care transitions.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have five years of experience in nursing practice, with a focus on critical care. You will work closely with the Emergency Department, inpatient units, Administrators on Duty, and Environmental Services to standardize processes and monitor transitions of care.

  • Standardize processes to ensure patients are admitted to the appropriate unit with the correct orders.
  • Hardwire standardized processes for inpatient transfers and patient discharges.
  • Evaluate bed turnaround times and develop action items to address opportunities.
  • Support efforts to improve patient throughput and ensure safe, timely care transitions.
  • Collaborate with the Emergency Department, inpatient units, Administrators on Duty, and Environmental Services to enhance care transitions.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited school of Nursing program approved by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing.
  • Five years of experience in nursing practice, with a focus on critical care.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide leadership to groups.
  • The ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a stressful environment.
  • Licensure to work as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Carolina.
