Job Responsibilities and RequirementsAs a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, you will be accountable for both direct and indirect nursing care for your assigned patients. Your responsibilities will include caring for patients undergoing cardiac and peripheral procedures, managing post-sheath removal, identifying groin complications, interpreting EKGs, recognizing abnormal lab results, and communicating these findings to the physician. We are a supportive team dedicated to patient care, and we seek a nurse who shares our commitment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing care for adult patients aged 18 to 64, as well as geriatric patients aged 65 and older.
- Serving as the subject matter expert on all invasive procedures, ensuring patients are adequately prepared according to established protocols.
- Managing the efficient flow of patients, which includes screening, exam preparation, delivering general nursing care, and coordinating testing and admissions.
- Delivering therapeutic services essential for patient care.
- Maintaining and reviewing patient records, including documenting tests and examination results.
Required qualifications include:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program: an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is mandatory.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the practicing state and/or possession of an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- A valid American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification is required.
- A current AHA or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Health Care Provider certification is preferred and must be obtained within six months of hire or transfer.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of prior experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or Electrophysiology setting is required.
