Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Care Unit team at Trident Medical Center. As a PCU Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with medical providers to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage patients' vital signs, including cardiac and other critical signs, to detect any changes and intervene in emergency situations.
  • Respond to Code Blue situations within the facility and initiate protocols, special procedures, and cardiac monitoring as needed.
  • Efficiently manage the flow of patients, including screening, preparation for exams, providing general nursing care, and arranging or testing and admissions.
  • Instruct patients and families on medications and treatment instructions, promoting patient education and empowerment.
  • Maintain and review patients' records, including posting tests and examination results, to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Administer medications in accordance with physician orders, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
  • Check rooms daily for necessary supplies, ensuring a smooth and efficient work environment.
  • Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls, including phone triage when needed, to provide timely and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing, holding an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
  • A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification is required.
  • A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Health Care Provider certification is preferred and required to be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer date.
  • Minimum of one year previous acute care Registered Nurse experience is required.
