As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality radiological exams for pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities- Verify patient identity and review medical records to ensure appropriateness of exams or procedures.
- Interview patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history and assess risk factors.
- Explain procedures to patients, including potential side effects, risks, benefits, and alternatives.
- Set up equipment and acquire images as per script.
- Review images, make initial observations, and document exceptions from established protocols.
- Communicate data to radiologists and recognize/respond to medical emergencies as needed.
- Provide post-care instructions to patients and participate in process improvement activities within the radiology practice.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R).
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training required.
- Strong analytical and clinical skills to determine the most age-appropriate method of providing radiographs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and hospital personnel.
- Technical knowledge to operate specialized equipment and computers.
- Ability to work productively in a complex environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.
