Job Summary

Children's Hospital of Michigan is a leading pediatric healthcare provider seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team in the Pediatric Imaging Department. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality radiological exams for pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient identity and review medical records to ensure appropriateness of exams or procedures.
  • Interview patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history and assess risk factors.
  • Explain procedures to patients, including potential side effects, risks, benefits, and alternatives.
  • Set up equipment and acquire images as per script.
  • Review images, make initial observations, and document exceptions from established protocols.
  • Communicate data to radiologists and recognize/respond to medical emergencies as needed.
  • Provide post-care instructions to patients and participate in process improvement activities within the radiology practice.
Requirements
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R).
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training required.
  • Strong analytical and clinical skills to determine the most age-appropriate method of providing radiographs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and hospital personnel.
  • Technical knowledge to operate specialized equipment and computers.
  • Ability to work productively in a complex environment and handle multiple priorities.
  • Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.
