Kittson Healthcare has been dedicated to serving the residents of Kittson County and its neighboring regions since 1922. We operate as a twelve-bed acute care federally designated Critical Access Hospital, complemented by a fifty-bed long-term care facility, a home healthcare agency, an 8-bed assisted living establishment, and an ambulance service. Our medical clinic is part of this comprehensive healthcare complex, and we are committed to delivering personalized care to every patient and resident.

Position Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist plays a vital role in ensuring a compliant and efficient workforce. This position is responsible for overseeing recruitment initiatives, ensuring compliance with rigorous credentialing and regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include collaborating with department leaders, conducting comprehensive background investigations, and managing the complete hiring process. The HR Generalist is also tasked with promoting a positive workplace culture while navigating the complexities of healthcare regulations and policies. This role involves conflict resolution, providing HR guidance, and maintaining confidentiality essential in healthcare settings. Additional responsibilities encompass benefits administration, employee development, payroll support, and maintaining accurate records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Possess a solid understanding of HR principles, policies, and procedures related to recruitment, benefits management, training, and compliance with employment laws (ADA, FMLA, FLSA, EEOC, HIPAA, OSHA).
- Stay informed about federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Demonstrate proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
- Maintain focus amidst frequent interruptions and manage a high level of concentration.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze HR-related issues, devise solutions, and make informed decisions.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills to build relationships, resolve conflicts, and collaborate with diverse teams.
- Commit to quality control and thorough analysis.
- Exhibit excellent organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

- Pay meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data management and compliance tasks.
- Adapt quickly to changes and respond effectively to new challenges.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources is preferred.
- One year of HR experience in a healthcare environment is advantageous.
- Familiarity with HRIS and other relevant platforms.
- Knowledge of HR compliance, policies, and best practices within the healthcare sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- HR certification (SHRM-CP or PHR) is a plus.
- Successful completion of background checks and other employment requirements.
- Completion of a TB test within the initial weeks of employment.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time position.
- Standard hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
