Job Description

As a Psychiatric Technician with the State of California, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a correctional health care setting. Your primary responsibility will be to provide basic level nursing and behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients in accordance with the Mental Health Program Guide, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide basic level nursing and behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Collaborate with the health care team to ensure the delivery of appropriate and timely health care to patients
  • Support the care team for daily health care operations and communicate effectively with patients and other members of the health care team
  • Address the ongoing needs of patients and work with the members of the larger health care team to promote the efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of health care resources
Requirements:
  • Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the State of California, Department of Consumer Affairs, BVNPT
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced correctional health care environment and maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care
