Lead Sales Associate Job Description

Job Summary:

The Lead Sales Associate plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. This position involves assisting customers in locating and purchasing merchandise, operating a cash register, stocking and recovering merchandise, cleaning the store, and performing other duties as assigned by the Store Manager to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Cash Handling: Operate a cash register, process transactions, and maintain accurate cash handling procedures.
  • Merchandise Management: Stock and recover merchandise, maintain a clean and organized store, and assist with inventory management.
  • Store Operations: Assist with opening and closing the store, perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, and maintain a safe and secure store environment.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Six months of supervisory experience or related experience/training preferred.
  • Skills: Effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent walking and standing.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to run check out station, stock merchandise, and unload trucks.
  • Frequent handling of merchandise and equipment.
  • Frequent and proper lifting of up to 40 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds.
