Lead Sales Associate Job Description

Job Summary:

The Lead Sales Associate plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. This position involves assisting customers, operating a cash register, stocking and recovering merchandise, cleaning the store, and performing other duties as assigned by the Store Manager to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Cash Handling: Operate a cash register, itemize and total customer purchases, collect payment, and make change as needed.
  • Merchandise Management: Stock and recover merchandise, maintain a clean and organized store, and assist with inventory management.
  • Store Maintenance: Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop floors, and maintain a safe and clean environment for customers and employees.
  • Team Leadership: Assist in implementing and maintaining planograms, and perform additional duties as assigned by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Six months of supervisory experience or related experience/training.
  • Skills: Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills, understanding of safety policies and practices, and ability to perform mathematical calculations.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent walking and standing.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to run check out stations, stock merchandise, and unload trucks.
  • Frequent handling of merchandise and equipment.
  • Frequent and proper lifting of up to 40 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds.
  • Occasional climbing up to heights of six feet.
  • Fast-paced environment; moderate noise level.
  • Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
