This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Library Buildings and Grounds (LBG), Tenant Services Division.
Key Responsibilities- Provide project management support for complex projects covering multiple disciplines for the Library of Congress (LOC) facilities.
- Perform investigations, surveys, and analysis to determine the scope and nature of required projects.
- Oversee project planning, design, budgets, and construction schedules to ensure timely completion.
- Develop authoritative responses to project questions and issues.
- Ensure environmental, sustainability, safety, accessibility, security, and reliability requirements are incorporated in assigned design and construction projects.
- Conduct periodic visits to the field to provide on-site guidance and advice.
- Ensure contractor compliance with contract specifications.
- Independently determine the source of and resolve problems relating to design and construction delays, excessive costs, and other technical problems.
- Must be able to pass a drug test.
- Must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements for the advertised position.
- Must meet all eligibility and qualifications requirements by the closing date of the job announcement.
- Must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.
- Must have experience overseeing project planning, design, budgets, and construction schedules.
- Must have experience independently determining the source of and resolving problems relating to design and construction delays, excessive costs, and other technical problems.
- Must possess a bachelor's degree in professional engineering or a related field.
- Must have a good understanding of the arts and sciences underlying professional architecture.
