The Registered Dietitian will oversee the Food Service operations, ensuring that residents and staff receive high-quality, nutritious meals and snacks in a courteous and efficient manner. This role includes maintaining accurate medical documentation related to resident care and demonstrating a strong commitment to the well-being of our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates staff training and education for Dietary personnel in alignment with the educational plan, providing hands-on training as necessary.
  • Conducts regular meetings with staff to ensure effective communication and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborates with the Food & Beverage Director to address operational challenges, resident food service issues, and dietary modifications.
  • Assists in menu development tailored to the preferences and nutritional requirements of residents and staff.
  • Completes the nutritional assessment component of the computerized MDS in accordance with the schedule set by the Resident Assessment Coordinator.
  • Develops resident care plans based on MDS triggers and proactively addresses any issues that may arise.
  • Monitors resident weights and implements necessary interventions, ensuring accurate documentation of weight-related concerns.
  • Ensures timely and precise assessments and quarterly notes, containing all required information.
  • Contributes to the creation, implementation, and maintenance of dietary service objectives and standards of practice.
  • Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding modified diets, sanitation, and personnel practices.
  • Fosters positive working relationships with supervisors and staff across various departments.
  • Adheres to all HIPAA regulations and standards.
  • Maintains Food Handlers Certification.
  • Collaborates professionally with colleagues to uphold the mission and values of Moorings Park.
  • Implements and oversees work and break schedules for supervised staff.
  • Assumes responsibilities in the absence of the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to continuous professional development and competency enhancement.
  • Exhibits a strong dedication to the mission of Moorings Park.
Qualifications:
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Availability to work during emergencies or natural disasters as required.
  • Must hold certification as a Registered Dietitian and possess a current license to practice in the state.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in food service operations within a healthcare setting.
