Position Overview:
The selected candidate will lead and provide strategic support within the Accounting division, encompassing areas such as Accounting Systems, General Accounting, Cost Accounting, Financial Reporting, and Shared Services.
This role is pivotal in overseeing all functions related to Accounting Systems and Internal Controls, delivering financial analysis through direct and matrix reporting structures.
The incumbent will manage finance system initiatives and internal control processes, ensuring effective integration and compliance across the finance function.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the Accounting Systems group and coordinating internal control activities.
- Reviewing and enhancing processes and systems to strengthen controls.
- Assisting various accounting teams in project planning and execution.
- Participating in company-wide initiatives, including system implementations.
- Preparing materials for Board meetings and external audits.
- Conducting financial analysis to report trends and metrics to senior management.
This position also involves mentoring team members to cultivate a robust talent pipeline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the corporate controller's group.
- Foster strong interdepartmental relationships through effective communication.
- Review and implement resolutions for major accounting challenges.
- Lead enhancements in accounting systems and internal controls.
- Oversee the monthly financial close process and audit-related matters.
- Analyze and report significant financial trends to senior management.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with IT and other departments on system-related matters.
- Driving strategic direction for financial data management across subsidiaries.
- Initiating process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Representing the company at industry events.
- Managing departmental budgets and expenditures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required; CPA and/or a master's degree is preferred. Candidates should possess 15 to 20 years of comprehensive accounting experience, including at least ten years in a leadership role. Familiarity with automated accounting systems and internal controls is essential. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
