Responsibilities

This role entails the safe operation and oversight of a printing press along with the team assigned to it.

  • Comply with all safety regulations and ensure that all team members adhere to established safety protocols.
  • Complete necessary safety training and certifications.
  • Exhibit a thorough understanding of our products, customer requirements, and inspection standards.
  • Gather and document relevant data accurately.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in basic mathematical skills, both metric and standard.
  • Utilize color measurement tools for color monitoring.
  • Assess and manage ink viscosities and their impact on color quality.
  • Apply knowledge of color theory and control in multi-color printing processes.
  • Employ measurement and analytical skills to identify root causes and resolve issues.
  • Utilize statistical tools as needed.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
  • Respect and uphold the confidentiality of company and customer information.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet job requirements and drive process improvements.
  • Utilize general computer skills for operational tasks.
  • Train new team members effectively.
  • Understand the components and operations of a flexographic printing press.
  • Implement general makeready procedures for flexographic printing.
  • Interpret job routing sheets and identify raw materials by part numbers.
  • Recognize and articulate problems clearly for troubleshooting.
  • Facilitate smooth information transfer between shifts.
  • Understand and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Complete and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documentation.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and organizational practices.
  • Ensure compliance with solvent and ink handling procedures.
  • Adhere to hazardous waste management protocols.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Experience: A minimum of three to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment operating a flexographic printing press is required.
