Job Summary

As a Hazardous Waste Specialist at Nationwide Technical Resources Corp., you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to hazardous waste management. Your expertise will be essential in conducting regular inspections of hazardous waste storage areas, coordinating with external agencies, and maintaining accurate records and documentation of all hazardous waste management activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to hazardous waste management.
  • Conduct regular inspections of hazardous waste storage areas to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with external agencies, such as regulatory authorities and waste disposal facilities, to ensure proper waste management practices are followed.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all hazardous waste management activities, including waste inventories, disposal manifests, and regulatory reports.
  • Operate and maintain Hazardous Waste Treatment equipment in accordance with DEC/DEP permit requirements.
  • Knowledge of emergency response protocols and procedures related to hazardous materials incidents.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to hazardous waste management.
  • Exceptional understanding of hazardous waste storage, transportation, and disposal techniques.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a challenging environment.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to occupational health and safety regulations.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hazardous waste management / treatment or a similar role.
  • Certification in hazardous waste management or related fields (e.g., Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response, DOT Hazardous Material Handling) preferred.
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste regulations (i.e., RCRA).
  • High School Education or equivalent.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
