Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including positioning, draping, and maintaining asepsis.
  • Operate and maintain surgical equipment, including sterilizers, suction machines, and lighting systems.
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during procedures, including passing instruments, suturing, and retracting tissues.
  • Monitor and maintain a sterile field, ensuring that all instruments and supplies are properly sterilized and stored.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and safe surgical procedures.
  • Participate in pre- and post-operative patient care, including vital sign monitoring and documentation.
  • Assist with room turnover, including cleaning and restocking supplies.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and new technologies.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent experience.
  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA).
  • 5 years of experience in a surgical setting, with a focus on operating room procedures.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and move patients, as well as stand for long periods of time.
