Job Title: Customer Quality Engineer

This role within our organization has been designed to better serve our top-tier customer's growing needs and goals, with a specific focus on responsiveness and quality improvement for the customer's product line.

Job Purpose

The Customer Quality Engineer will act as the liaison between our customer and the organization, serving as the representative and point of contact for the customer's needs. Responsible for continuous product and process quality improvements, conducting investigations into NCs and CAPAs stemming from customer requirements, and leading root cause analysis to identify risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities for quality improvements
  • Lead NC and CAPA processes for our customer
  • Communicate with the customer to gather information necessary to troubleshoot and conduct investigation updates
  • Provide outstanding customer support
  • Work with a multifunctional team, including Manufacturing Engineering, Applications Engineering, R&D, Operations, and Quality
  • Develop statistical rationale to address issues when required
  • Manage customer notifications and process customer requests in a timely manner
  • Translate customer needs into action plans and serve as the voice of the customer back into the business
Requirements
  • Minimum BS in materials science, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or similar
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the Machining field
  • Excellent understanding of GD&T in theory and practice
  • Blueprint/Drawing interpretation
  • Experience in customer communication
  • Strong communication skills and initiative
  • Excellent project leadership and organization skills
  • Hands-on and fast learner
Preferred Skills
  • Minitab
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of failure investigation techniques and related tools: 8D, 6 Sigma, Root Cause Analysis
  • Ability to conduct and document a technical investigation with prior experience investigating, troubleshooting, and root causing
