Position Overview
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer at Shannon & Wilson, you will play a pivotal role in our engineering team, providing expert geotechnical services and solutions. We are an employee-owned consulting firm dedicated to delivering high-quality service and technical excellence in the fields of geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, and engineering geology.

Key Responsibilities
- Engage in business development initiatives, fostering relationships with new and existing clients.
- Oversee multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members across various levels.
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers and staff, providing guidance and support.
- Review and validate engineering calculations and technical reports prepared by team members.
- Conduct comprehensive geotechnical analyses, studies, and calculations.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports and documentation.
- Lead field exploration activities, including sample collection and geological mapping.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance policies and safety protocols.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Geotechnical Engineering, with a foundational degree in Geology or Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) and Geotechnical Engineer (GE) licensure required.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in geotechnical investigations and studies.
- Proven experience in mentoring and managing teams.
- Expertise in subsurface exploration techniques and geologic interpretation.
- Proficiency in the design and analysis of various geotechnical structures, including foundations and retaining walls.
- Familiarity with numerical modeling and construction observation practices.
- Strong organizational skills and experience in project management.

Technical Skills
- Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD and numerical modeling software is a plus.
