POSITION OVERVIEW

In the role of Retail Sales Specialist, you will act as a brand representative, providing outstanding customer service and contributing to the store's profitability and overall customer satisfaction. This position allows you to utilize your natural problem-solving skills and sales expertise to assist customers with their inquiries and make persuasive product suggestions, all while embodying Columbia Sportswear Company's values to foster teamwork and enhance customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing consumer inquiries regarding product features, benefits, and availability; engage with customers to identify their needs and preferences (e.g., demonstrate and explain merchandise, recommend suitable options, etc.).
  • Uphold store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety; retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stockroom, or other inventory locations.
  • Efficiently and accurately perform all necessary cash register transactions (e.g., sales, returns, exchanges, connecting customers to loyalty programs).
  • Contribute to store profitability by accurately and efficiently receiving, handling, replenishing, and processing incoming and outgoing product flow.
  • Execute designated keyholder responsibilities as required, which may include opening and closing store operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • No specific educational requirements (High School Diploma or GED preferred)
  • Up to 2 years of experience in a similar role or specialization
  • Proficient in operating a Point of Sale (POS) system, other in-store computerized systems, and telephone communication
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Regularly in a dynamic environment that may require physical activity (i.e., frequently moving items weighing up to 40 lbs.), may involve using specialized equipment, and may expose you to dust and noise
  • Occasionally requires the ability to work in a stationary position
  • Ability to communicate clearly with others
  • Willingness to work a flexible retail schedule, which may vary seasonally and in response to business trends or forecasts. All local, state, and federal laws are adhered to when assessing your availability.
