Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Acute Neuroscience Trauma unit at Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems. As a Registered Nurse in this unit, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, including those with brain and spinal cord injuries, strokes, seizures, and movement disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with complex medical needs
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Provide education and support to patients and families to promote health and wellness
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction
  • Assume leadership roles and mentor junior staff members to promote professional growth and development
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible for compact state licensure
  • Experience in acute care nursing, preferably in neuroscience or trauma units
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift 20-50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods
  • Willingness to work all three shifts, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
  • Academic health care experience
  • Experience with similar patient populations in acute care settings
  • Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or higher
  • Certification in specialty area
