We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Amcor Rigid Packaging. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance and preventative/predictive maintenance on injection, auxiliary, and plant support equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Apply knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic theory and procedure to troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, and complete necessary repairs.
- Minimize downtime due to breakdown repairs and PMs, and optimize the quality of products manufactured to the highest degree.
- Apply knowledge of machines and processes to analyze, set up, and maintain equipment for safe and continuous operation.
- Read electrical schematics and identify symbols and control circuits with a reasonable degree of competency.
- Troubleshoot electrical circuits and work on the installation of PLCs, change motors, install relays and starters, and install control circuits.
- Read hydraulic schematics and identify symbols and control circuits with a reasonable degree of competency.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic circuits and work on equipment to repair, change, or upgrade the status of equipment.
- Perform maintenance on all types of equipment represented in the plant with a reasonable degree of skill and competency.
- Follow all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Amcor No Injuries Safety Contract and as trained.
- High school diploma or graduate of vo-tech program preferred.
- Completed all requirements of Mold Technician or prove previous experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a Manufacturing environment.
- Physical Requirements: This is a heavy physical demand job.
- Lift/push/pull up to 100 pounds 50 feet using a hydraulic hand jack.
- Maximum frequent lifting weight of 75 pounds from ground to 6 feet overhead.
- Occasional frequency of lifting up to 100 pounds from ground to 6 feet overhead.
- Maximum frequent carrying weight of 60 pounds for 10 feet.
- Employees are required to stand/walk for up to 11 hours per shift on a concrete floor.
- Employees must be able to work 12-hour shifts day or nights, including weekends and holidays.
- Employees are required to bend; turn/ twist; kneel; squat; crawl; climb; reach out and up; turn wrist; grasp; pinch; and have finger manipulations.
- Continuous noise of 85dB.
- Frequent exposure to chemicals.
- Occasional exposure to dust/fumes/gas.
- Heights.
- Confined spaces.
