Job Summary
The Perioperative Registered Charge Nurse is a professional nurse who coordinates the delivery of nursing care for the patient in the surgical suite. This role requires a high level of expertise in the planning of care for the patient throughout the perioperative process.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the delivery of nursing care for patients in the surgical suite
- Participate in patient and family teaching
- Provide leadership by working cooperatively with other disciplines in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice
- Utilize evidence-based medical practices to ensure high-quality patient care
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current state registration or eligibility to do so
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge and skills
- Previous operating room experience preferred
