Job Title: Chief Clinical Officer

At Nexus Children's Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Clinical Officer to lead our clinical operations team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the clinical operations at our facility, ensuring the highest quality of patient care, and driving the strategic direction of our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the clinical operations at the assigned facility, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Point of contact for physicians, psychologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other staff members, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Monitor the effectiveness and results of the program, making adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Encourage team building activities with patients and family, promoting a positive and supportive environment.
  • Plan the delivery of overall patient programs and their activities, aligning with the mission and goals of the organization.
  • Develop new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization, ensuring alignment with our vision and values.
  • Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization, maintaining a culture of compliance and excellence.
  • Supervise program staff, providing direction, input, and feedback to ensure the highest level of performance.
  • Supervise, hire, and train staff, ensuring that all team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Active participation in education and mentoring of other members of the team within the scope of practice, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Participate in weekly patient rounds and/or treatment planning as necessary, ensuring that all patients receive the highest level of care.
  • Participate in family conferences and other patient care conferences as needed, providing support and guidance to patients and families.
  • Ensure fiscal management of all departments, ensuring that all financial resources are utilized effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensure all clinical departments under ACCO direction provide appropriate services as per professional licensing acts, maintaining a culture of compliance and excellence.
  • Ensure staffing appropriateness for each clinical department under ACCO's direction, ensuring that all team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Demonstrate the ability to resolve and/or problem solve areas of concern or conflict with patients' families, co-workers, or external customers in a professional, proactive, and courteous manner.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled staff meetings to facilitate good communication flow and problem identification, ensuring that all team members are informed and engaged.
  • Perform employee performance evaluations in a timely manner, ensuring that all required paperwork is submitted to payroll in a timely manner.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of payroll, ensuring that all team members are paid accurately and on time.
  • Provide appropriate awards and corrective action to staff, ensuring that all team members are recognized and rewarded for their contributions.
  • Ensure staff attends all mandatory in-services, ensuring that all team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional patient care.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of master's degree in the Healthcare field from an accredited college.
  • Prefer 5 years of management experience in an inpatient setting.
  • Knowledge of or exposure to providing assistance to persons with neurological deficits, or persons with disabilities in acute care or community re-entry program in an inpatient hospital setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of working with patients with psychiatric disorders, developmental issues is preferred.
  • Certified in BLS.
  • Satori Alternative to Managing Aggression (SAMA) certified.
  • Maintain current professional licensure in good standing during employment with this facility.
