Job Summary

The Membership Team Member is a key role at the Greater Philadelphia YMCA, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive member experience. This position requires a friendly and welcoming demeanor, with the ability to develop relationships with members and promote the benefits of the YMCA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Member Engagement: Greet and welcome all members, handle incoming calls, and follow up calls in a friendly manner.
  • Membership Sales: Demonstrate effective skills to interview prospective members, sell a membership, and enroll constituents using established procedures.
  • Customer Service: Respond to member questions, concerns, and conflicts in an accurate, timely, and appropriate manner.
  • Administrative Tasks: Balance receipts at the end of shift, assist with implementing special events, and maintain accurate records.
  • Leadership and Training: Provide guidance and leadership to assist with training less experienced staff.
Requirements
  • Education: High School or equivalent with some college preferred.
  • Experience: At least 1 year prior experience working with the public in a customer service capacity.
  • Skills: Ability to remember and communicate a variety of complex programs, familiarity with computerized systems.
