Job Summary:

This role is within the Spend Management Analytics team and reports to the System Manager of Spend Management Performance Analytics and Master Data.

The Health System's master data must be maintained and be accurate to ensure all tasks are performed efficiently throughout Spend Management and that accurate analytics can be produced.

As a Master Data Specialist, you are responsible for the management of the system wide Spend Management Item Master.

Management of this data focuses on ensuring its accuracy and integrity by using established tools and workflows.

Identifying gaps in the data and developing ways to ensure those gaps are closed is also a responsibility of this role.

Cross-functional collaboration across the health system is an important part of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitors adherence to data governance policies, procedures, and processes
  • Audits overall data quality by querying data and using available tools to complete audits
  • Collaborates with other teams when data errors arise to determine corrective action
  • Provides subject matter expertise to determine appropriate data values when conflicts arise
  • Ensures the appropriateness of item master requests
  • Completes item master requests within the expected lead time
  • Escalates when data quality issues are found
  • Assisting with large data migrations
  • Assisting with large data conversions

Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in business or related field from an accredited College or University or at least 4 years in a healthcare/business environment and 2 years in a data analytics role.

Experience with Group Purchasing Organizations, contract tier structures, healthcare data, and Item Master management within an ERP.

Demonstrated superior communication skills, ability to manage multiple projects effectively and efficiently with varying deadlines and levels of importance, and strong mathematical or data science skills.
