About the Job

As a Histotechnologist - Anatomical Pathology Specialist at Quality Talent Group, you will play a crucial role in performing repetitive tests that require knowledge of histological technique and related instruments. This position involves recognizing factors that directly affect procedures and results, using and monitoring quality control programs, and performing simple instrument maintenance. You will also attend and assist with direct patient care procedures and/or perform cyto prep as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all routine and complex laboratory procedures in the assigned work area.
  • Recognize and ensure critical values (and/or reportable results) with appropriate Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) documentation.
  • Organize workload and set priorities, utilizing all available work time by assisting others and performing additional tasks.
  • Analyze quality control data, make judgments concerning the results, and thoroughly document any corrective action taken.
  • Maintain a safe environment within the Laboratory, following all policies and procedures for safety, hazardous materials, security, emergency preparedness, and HIPAA.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations section.
  • No experience required; one year experience as a Histology Technician highly preferred.
  • HT(ASCP) - Histotechnician (ASCP) within 1 year OR HTL(ASCP) - Histotechnologist (ASCP) within 1 year.
