Job Summary

The Building Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operations of the property. This includes managing maintenance staff, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring the timely maintenance of all building systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day maintenance and operations of the property
  • Ensure transition of apartment turnovers, including oversight of the punch list and acceptance process
  • Coordinate with contractors for repair work
  • Participate in the interviewing and hiring of maintenance staff
  • Purchase maintenance supplies and maintain accurate inventory
  • Knowledge of building codes and safety standards
  • Assist with snow removal and other tasks as needed
  • Prepare and provide facilities updates for management and stakeholders
  • Utilize Yardi and Ultipro for requisitions and time-off requests
  • Respond to and report emergencies and concerns to supervisor
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of experience in maintenance or facilities management
  • Current certifications in S13 Standpipe and S12 Fire Sprinkler
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of building codes and safety standards
