Job Title: Estimating Manager for Shipyard Operations

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead our estimating team in Honolulu, HI.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage daily activities of the estimating department
* Develop and implement estimating strategies and techniques
* Lead and manage a team of estimators to generate base cost estimates
* Engage in business development and identify new leads
* Oversee the estimating process, including responding to RFPs, interpreting blueprints, and negotiating contracts
* Ensure the assignment of work is delegated appropriately to employees
* Communicate regularly with executive management, vendors, subcontractors, and consultants

Requirements:

* Bachelor of Science in engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
* Minimum requirement of 10 years of ship repair or marine industry experience, five years of management experience highly recommended
* Advanced knowledge of estimating strategies and techniques
* Experience negotiating contract changes and providing labor estimates for ship repair
* Previous experience or training in work sequencing and scheduling
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project or similar scheduling software

Qualifications:

* Knowledge of Navy Vessels and ship construction methods
* NAVSEA standards as well as federal and state regulations
* Ability to organize and prioritize to meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
* Ability to read technical drawings and understand government contracts
* Experience with proposal writing
* Highly experienced with Microsoft Office, Excel
* This position requires US Citizenship due to clearance required for base access
* Must successfully obtain and maintain TWIC and Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential to gain access to federally controlled work sites
* Must submit to and pass a post-offer drug screening and a background check
