Job Description
  • We are seeking a highly skilled Teller and Customer Service Specialist to join our team at Oostburg State Bank. As a Teller, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service by receiving deposits and loan payments, cashing checks, issuing savings withdrawals, recording night and mail deposits, selling cashier's checks, and series e bonds, answering questions in person or on telephone, and referring customers to other bank services.
  • In addition to your Teller duties, you will also be responsible for completing special requests, such as closing accounts, taking orders for checks, exchanging foreign currencies, providing special statements, copies, and referrals, and completing safe-deposit box procedures.
  • You will also be responsible for reconciling the cash drawer by proving cash transactions, counting and packaging currency and coins, and other transactions, turning in excess cash and mutilated currency, and maintaining a supply of cash and currency.
  • Your goal will be to provide accurate and efficient banking services to our customers while ensuring the security and integrity of their financial information.
Requirements
  • Candidates must have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with customers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Previous experience in a banking environment is preferred but not required.
  • Candidates must be able to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and a bachelor's degree in business administration or related field is preferred.
  • Candidates must be willing to participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on banking regulations and best practices.
