About the Position

Tacoma Community College is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Art Appreciation Professor to join our faculty team. As a Part-Time Faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching Art History courses at our Gig Harbor Campus, with the possibility of future assignments on the Tacoma campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Art Appreciation courses, including ART&100, a hybrid-online course that meets T, Th, from 12:30 - 1:20p.
  • Utilize the college's Learning Management System (LMS) for course-related engagement and communication.
  • Provide course-related support via email and scheduled office hours.
  • Comply with state and federal laws applicable to professional duties and responsibilities.
  • Participate in the college's required professional development and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion events.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Art, Art History, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
Conditions of Employment
  • Successful completion of a criminal history background check prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, colleagues, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to developing and implementing instructional strategies and practices that enhance student success, particularly those that support and enhance outcomes for traditionally underserved populations.
