Job Summary
At C Spire, we are customer inspired. Every C Spire team member is charged with delivering a world-class experience to every customer. This position is responsible for working closely and courteously with Residential customers. The ideal candidate will supervise daily installs by C Spire employees and contract employees, ensuring timely arrivals and quality assurance for all installs. Additionally, the incumbent will supervise the distribution of inventory, upkeep and appearance of company vehicles, and adherence to uniform and personal appearance standards. The Supervisor, Home Services will also supervise and report to the manager on employee image, ensuring that all employees adhere to the set standards.
Responsibilities
- Installing and servicing IPTV, high-speed data, and voice services, working with wireless video equipment, running and pulling cable, and provisioning equipment while adhering to codes, regulations, and standards.
- Installing and servicing home security and home automation systems according to codes and standards, with the ability to pass background checks for state licensing requirements.
- Splicing fiber connectors, knowledge of fiber, CAT6 color code, using and operating an OTDR, Light Meter, Light Source, and Multi-Meter.
- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues, making changes to meet specification requirements, demonstrating systems to clients, and obtaining sign-off for training.
- Responsible for company assets, such as tools, proprietary software, and databases, locating and alleviating trouble with damaged equipment or wiring, readjusting equipment, repairing or replacing inoperative equipment, and testing for operation.
- Conducting customer premise surveys, making recommendations on equipment placement, timely processing work order modifications, and managing schedule impact.
- Providing prompt, courteous, and excellent customer service, promptly reporting defective material or equipment, inaccuracies, or omissions in job information that may result in inadequate service for customers.
- Wiring CAT6 and/or fiber optic drops inside residential subscribers' homes/locations as directed.
- Cleaning up debris from installation, patching drill holes, and returning unused materials. Configuring Internet-based wired and wireless devices and networks.
- Being available to work shift rotations that include Saturdays and available for on-call duties evenings and weekends, with the ability to work overtime as needed.
Qualifications
Education/Experience Required – High School Diploma or equivalent required, good oral and written communication skills required. Experience with IPTV or cable TV and/or home automation/security required. Fiber splicing, wireline phone service, wireless routers, and wireless technology required. Proven leadership, with a high degree of interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions – Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use a computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing a computer screen. Must be available via phone 7X24 hours a day for emergencies and on-call as directed. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends in an on-call/emergency environment. Regional travel will be required. Occasional longer distance travel required. Must have an appropriate driver's license and be insurance eligible. Must be able to handle and move 50 lbs. or more, work on a ladder for an extended period of time, and have good hand-eye coordination.
