Fabrication Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Specialist to join our team at Ace Precision Machining. As a Fabrication Specialist, you will be responsible for performing fabricating operations on sheet metal components, including disassembly, repair, deburr, grind, sandblast, and reassembly.

• Interpret and work from complex sketches, routings, and product specifications.
• Set up and operate fabricating machines, including shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, expanders, sandblasters, and hand grinders.
• Complete final deburring operations on finished assemblies.
• Install assemblies in supportive frameworks according to sketches.
• Inspect assemblies and installations for conformance to specifications.
• Repair and maintain sheet metal products.
• Cut apart assemblies for repair and fit for re-assembly.
• Maintain tolerances and finish specifications.
• Check work dimensional acceptance using various measuring instruments.
• Maintain SPC charts.
• Perform preventive maintenance on sheet metal equipment in coordination with the Maintenance Department.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of and conformity with Ace Precision Quality System work instructions requirements.
• Maintain or exceed production standards through efficient organization and planning.
• Follow and comply with safety policies and procedures.
• Accurately complete all required documentation.
• Meet attendance policy requirements.
• Contribute to team effort by assisting in areas as needed.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), with minimum two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read English and interpret sketches, routings, product specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with employees and other Company stakeholders.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals and fractions.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Requires judgment to plan and perform work, make decisions as to the sequence of processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.
