What We Need:

We are seeking a Facilities Operations Manager to join our HNI team.

What You Will Do:
  • Supervise the upkeep and oversight of the corporation's various facilities, both domestic and international, ensuring all systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, and structural elements operate efficiently.
  • Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers for facility-related projects including construction, renovations, and repairs.
  • Gather cost estimates and coordinate activities related to building improvements or space allocations, inspecting completed work for adherence to specifications.
  • Administer security protocols to safeguard staff, facilities, and equipment, assisting in the implementation and adoption of new security measures.
  • Maintain property records and documentation.
  • Act as a liaison between municipal and state authorities regarding facilities.
  • Ensure facilities are equipped with adequate housekeeping services such as janitorial, landscaping, snow removal, and minor repairs.
  • May involve supervisory responsibilities including hiring, performance evaluations, training, and development.
  • Review insurance recommendations for each site and assist in negotiations with insurance brokers when necessary.
  • Continue to implement and support best practices in all facilities that align with HNI's sustainability objectives.
  • Maintain and manage emergency response contacts.
What You Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
    • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) certification or other relevant certifications preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in facilities management; experience managing multiple facilities is preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and operate effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with building systems and materials, with the capability to assess building issues and implement suitable corrective actions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with various internal and external stakeholders and vendors, both in person and through written correspondence.
