Job Overview


We are seeking an experienced Risk Management Underwriting Director to join our team in a key leadership role. This position will be responsible for managing and executing underwriting strategies for large casualty accounts, ensuring the company's growth and profitability.



Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement underwriting policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Lead a team of underwriters in assessing and evaluating complex risk profiles, including financial analysis and market trends.
  • Collaborate with senior management to identify business opportunities and develop strategic plans to achieve growth and profitability goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers, agents, and brokers to drive revenue growth and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze and interpret data to inform underwriting decisions, identifying areas of risk and developing solutions to mitigate them.
  • Mentor and train junior underwriters to enhance their skills and knowledge, ensuring the continued success of the team.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, such as risk management, insurance, or finance.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in underwriting, preferably in a leadership role, with a proven track record of success.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.


Compensation and Benefits

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, New York, and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $87,000 to $178,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
