Our division, Frontline Communications, has been at the forefront of custom communications vehicle production since 1985, successfully creating over 2,500 bespoke vehicles tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients.
Our dedicated team designs and constructs high-quality, dependable broadcast and communications vehicles suitable for electronic news gathering, satellite uplink, field production, bonded cellular Live&Drive, and weather reporting applications, all completed in-house without subcontracting.
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking an Entry-Level Vehicle Assembly Technician responsible for the safe assembly of equipment by adhering to instructions provided by supervisors or trainers. The assemblies vary in complexity and require the use of various mechanical, electrical, and manual tools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow detailed instructions to effectively utilize appropriate tools for aligning, drilling, and securing components with the correct bolts and torque specifications.
- Accurately use and interpret a tape measure.
- Adhere to work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct assembly operations within designated work areas.
- Assemble parts and subassemblies to form complete components.
- Ensure accurate assembly of parts.
- Drill holes for wires, hoses, and small components.
- Operate tools such as torches or grinders to cut and shape parts.
- Position parts and subassemblies using templates or by reading measurements.
- Install various vehicle accessories including decals, stencils, trim, and carpeting.
- Lift and stack completed subassemblies and parts weighing up to 65 lbs.
- Adapt to training and work in various assembly areas based on production needs.
- Follow both verbal and written work instructions.
- Maintain attention to detail to meet quality standards.
- Uphold a safe and organized work environment by complying with established procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Exhibit effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Regular attendance is essential.
- Perform any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience with basic hand tools is advantageous.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using various small and pneumatic hand tools.
- Basic arithmetic skills and familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, scales, and measuring tapes are required.
